Woodhouse Prize Band, one of the oldest Brass Bands
in the world, hails from Woodhouse, once a small village on the south-east
side of Sheffield in the county of Yorkshire, England.
On our site, we're pleased to present a brief history of the band, some
photographs of the band in action recently at the stately home of the
Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth House, our current player roster, and how
to get in touch with us.
If you're looking for our rehearsal rooms, we're at the junction of Chapel
Street and Tithe Barn Lane on this multimap.co.uk
map.
Keeping a band like Woodhouse going is an expensive business. The band
is financed by player subscriptions and revenue earned from concert performances.
Recently however, a Patrons Society has been formed to give non-players
an opportunity to contribute towards the upkeep of the band
